Welcome to Lectures in Jeans (“LIJ”)! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our services, including the organization and attendance of lectures in different venues, and the use of our website, available at http://www.lecturesinjeans.com (the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please avoid using the Services.

Our privacy policy (available here and on our website), which describes our collection and use of personal data, complements these Terms, and you are advised to read it thoroughly as well and make sure you agree to our data processing activities.

1. Overview of Services

1.1 Purpose:  LIJ arranges engaging lectures and events hosted in bars, cafes, and similar venues for the purpose of education, networking, and entertainment.

1.2 Participants: Our Services are generally open to the general public, but some events might include an age restriction. Furthermore, these Terms are subject to the terms of each event, as they appear on the “Events” section on our website.

2. User Responsibilities

2.1 Compliance with Laws and Venue Rules: You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and venue-specific rules while attending events organized by us. Disruptive, offensive, or illegal behavior will result in removal from the event and potential banning from future events.

2.3 Attending Our Events: In order to attend LIJ events, you are required to purchase a ticket in advance, via our website.  No tickets will be sold at the door. You are required to provide accurate information during the purchasing process.

3. Payment and Refunds

3.1 Ticket Fees: Ticket prices will be specified on the event section of our website.

3.2 Refund Policy: All LIJs' tickets are non-refundable, unless we cancel an event; in that case, you will be refunded.

3.3   No-Show Policy: No refunds will be issued for no-shows or late arrivals.

4. Communications from Lectures in Jeans

When you purchase a ticket, you will receive administrative communications from us using the email address or other contact information you provide, including telephone number. Enrollment in additional email subscription programs will not affect the frequency of these administrative emails. You may also receive promotional emails from us, if you will give your consent to that and so long as you did not withdraw your consent. You can control whether you want to keep receiving these promotional emails by unsubscribing to them.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Content Ownership: All content shared during our events is the intellectual property of the speaker.

 4.2 Restrictions: You may not record, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any content from the events without prior written consent from LIJ.

5. Limitation of Liability

5.1 Event Risks: Attendance at events may involve inherent risks, such as alcohol consumption or interactions with other attendees. In no event shall LIJ be responsible or liable for any of these risks or their realization.

5.2 Venue Liability: LIJ is not responsible for the condition of the venues or actions of venue staff.

5.3 Speaker Liability: LIJ disclaims any responsibility for lecture contents, which is the sole responsibility of the speakers.  

5.4 General Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, LIJ disclaims all liability for any loss, injury, or damages resulting from your use of the Services.

6. Modifications to Terms

LIJ reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via our website. Continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Stockholm.
